Product Details: The Brother HL-L8240cdw is the latest addition to a family of single-function colour laser printers with a reputation for high-quality printing and durability. Engineered for heavy-duty printing in busy office environments, this printer has a recommended monthly print volume of up to 4,000 pages. It hits print speeds of up to 30 A4 colour or black and white pages per minute (ppm) and, with automatic two-sided (duplex) printing up to 12 sides per minute.

At up to 600 x 600 dpi resolution, you can expect high-quality coloured prints with bright and crisp graphics, images and text. Paper capacity totals 280 sheets, split between a standard 250-sheet paper tray and a 30-sheet multipurpose tray. If that’s not sufficient, however, you can add a second 250-sheet paper tray (LT-310CL).

When the time comes to add more toner, you have a choice of different capacity toners. Brother TN-258 is standard-yield (printing up to 1,000 pages); Brother TN-258XL is high-yield (up to 2,300 pages colour; 3,000 pages black); and Brother TN-259 is extra-high-yield (up to 4,000 pages colour; up to 4,500 pages black). While high-yield and extra-high-yield cartridges are predictably more expensive, your cost per page is appreciably less. There are not, as yet, any third-party compatible toner cartridges for this printer. The printer drum (DR248CL) is separate from the toner cartridge and will need replacing after about 30,000 pages (when printing an average of three pages per print job).

Connect to this printer via USB 2.0, Ethernet, Wi-Fi Direct, or dual-band wireless. You can also print from a mobile device using Apple AirPrint, Mopria, or Brother Mobile Connect, or directly from a flash drive.

All up, the HL-L8240cdw is a well-built machine that offers excellent print quality and is a good choice for busy offices that regularly produce colour documents in volume.
