If you need to print and scan at A3 size, then the Brother MFC-J6540dw could be the printer for you.

Although it’s an inkjet printer, the MFC-J6540dw prints at speeds comparable to a colour laser printer (at 28 images per minute). The cost per page is relatively inexpensive for a cartridge-based inkjet, and you get a range of features that will appeal to any small or medium-sized businesses needing to print A3 documents.

The MFC-J6540dw is a 4-in-1 printer, allowing you to print, copy, scan and fax. It has a 6.8cm LCD colour touchscreen display for standalone operation and a 50-sheet automatic document feeder for single-sided scanning and copying. Unlike some others in the range (including the MFC-J5740dw), it has only one 250-sheet paper tray, along with a manual feed slot. You can, however, scan A3 pages at up to 13 ipm (something the MFC-J5740dw can’t do).

The printer has a range of connectivity options, including dual-band wireless, USB and Ethernet, with support for Apple AirPrint, Mopria, and Brother’s mobile print apps.

This printer uses Brother LC432 or LC432XL cartridges in black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. You will get more prints at a lower cost per print with the high-yield LC432XL cartridges. You can also save money with third-party compatible inks or Value Pack bundles.

When to expect delivery:

Get your order fast! Place it before 4 pm Mon-Fri for same-day shipping from warehouses in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch (excluding public holidays). Typically deliveries to major New Zealand towns and cities take 1 to 2 days, while it may take a day or two longer for rural areas. Delivery of oversized printers that are too heavy for normal courier delivery is done by Mainfreight and may take a little longer on occasions. You’ll be notified when your order has been dispatched and provided with a tracking number so you can monitor the progress of your order.
