If you want an economical All-in-One A3 inkjet printer with everything a bustling office needs, the Brother MFC-J6555dwxl should be part of the conversation. It’s an ink tank printer but when you need more ink, you get super-sized ink cartridges, not bottle refills.

With the MFC-J6555dwxl you can print, scan, copy, and fax at up to A3 size. Automatic double-sided (duplex) printing at A3 size is also supported. Duplex scanning, copying, and faxing are limited to A4 sizes, however (you’ll want the MFC-J6955dw if that’s an issue).

Print speed is nothing to be sneezed at — you’ll get up to 30 images per minute (ipm) when printing A4 mono or colour pages. This printer has a 50-sheet automatic document feeder, two 250-sheet paper trays, and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray. For standalone operation, it has an 8.8cm LCD colour touchscreen display.

With a recommended monthly print volume of 250-3,500 pages, the MFC-J6555dwxl is a good fit for small and medium-sized offices. But what makes it stand out is its low running costs. After you buy this printer, you may not need more ink for a while, as Brother throws in enough ink to keep you going for up to two years. When you need refills, you want to buy Brother LC436 or LC436XL replacements.
