Brother’s top-of-the-line A3 inkjet printer, the MFC-J6955dw isn’t a conventional inkjet printer by any means. Not only can you print, copy, scan, and fax two-sided A4 or A3 pages but, because it uses Brother’s INKvestment ink tank technology, this printer rivals colour laser printers for low cost of operation.

Print speeds, too, are up there (at up to 30 images per minute, mono and colour) and the recommended monthly print volume of 250-3,500 pages makes it a good fit for small and medium-sized offices. It has a 50-sheet automatic document feeder for double-sided scanning and copying and accommodates up to 600 sheets in two 250-sheet paper trays and a 100-sheet multi-purpose tray. For standalone operation, it has an 8.8cm LCD colour touchscreen display.

The MFC-J6955dw comes with multiple connectivity options, including NFC, wireless, Wi-Fi Direct, Ethernet, and USB 2.0. It also supports cloud printing and is compatible with Apple AirPrint, Mopria, and Brother’s mobile print apps.

When you buy this printer, it comes with enough ink to last for up to a year, according to Brother’s estimates. The supplied cartridges are, however, only starter-size, and when the time comes for refills you need to buy Brother LC436 or LC436XL replacements. If you print enough to warrant using them, the super-high yield XL cartridges are a better deal (your cost per page is lower), and you save even more with third-party compatible XL inks and Value Pack bundles.

Delivery of oversized printers that are too heavy for normal courier delivery is done by Mainfreight and may take a little longer on occasions.
