With little to no fanfare, Brother has been replacing many of its laser printers with LED printers. We think it’s a move that makes sense, both for Brother and for users. That’s because LED printers are less costly to manufacture, but they are also more compact, faster, and reliable. Components last longer, and there is no significant difference in print quality.

The Brother MFC-L8390cdw is part of this transition and a perfect choice for small to medium businesses or home offices needing to produce professional-quality documents with a minimum of fuss. Print speed is a respectable 30 pages per minute in both black and white and colour, the printer delivering quality prints with sharp resolution up to 600 x 2400 dpi. It comes with a 250-sheet input tray that can be expanded to 500 sheets (with the addition of the optional LT-310CL lower paper input tray). It also supports automatic two-sided (duplex) printing, scanning, copying, and faxing, with a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) that can scan both sides of a page simultaneously.

The printer comes with pre-installed high-yield toner: enough black toner to print up to 2,600 pages and enough colour toner for up to 1,400 pages. When you need more, depending on your budget and print requirements, you can purchase TN-258 (standard-yield), TN-258XL (high-yield), or TN-259 (super-high-yield) cartridges. The separate drum unit (DR-258CL) will last for up to 30,000 pages (assuming an average of three pages per print job).

Delivery of oversized printers that are too heavy for normal courier delivery is done by Mainfreight and may take a little longer on occasions.
