Product Details: Brother’s MFC-L9570cdw multifunction colour laser doesn’t pull any punches. It is squarely aimed at businesses with lots to print and no time to waste, and it’s a knockout.

This all-in-one machine can print, scan, copy and fax and, for internal documents, it can do it all double-sided. It can print at speeds of up to 31 pages per minute (ppm) for both colour and mono A4 pages, and it has some of the fastest scanning speeds in its class. Thanks to a single-pass scanner and 80-sheet auto-duplexing document feeder (ADF) it can scan up to 52 one-sided ppm and, two-sided, up to 104 images per minute.

Standard paper capacity is up to 300 sheets, split between a 250-sheet cassette and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray. But if that doesn’t sound like enough, it’s expandable — all the way up to an optional 4-tray tower and connector which will give you a maximum input capacity of up to 2,380 sheets.

You can connect the printer to your network via USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, or 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. Brother also provides mobile printing apps for both iOS and Android, while also supporting Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC tap-to-print, and direct printing from a flash drive. For walk-up operation, it has a large (17.6 cm) colour touchscreen display providing easy navigation, customisable with up to 64 time-saving configurable shortcuts.

Security need not be a concern. The printer comes with advanced features that provide complete control over who has access to print jobs and confidential documents. These include Secure Print (requiring 4-digit PIN access to sensitive documents), Secure Function Lock (restricting individual or group access to some printer features), and Active Directory (restricting access to credentialled users). An integrated NFC card reader which requires a compatible card or badge to access the printer is also included.

Maximum and recommended monthly print and copy volumes are high, at up to 80,000 pages and up to 6,000 pages respectively. When toner replacements are needed, you need TN-446 Extra High Yield or TN-449 Ultra High Yield cartridges. Both genuine and third-party compatible versions are available, with the TN-446 delivering up to 6,500 pages per cartridge (Black or colour) and the TN-449 rated for up to 9,000 pages per cartridge (Black or colour). The separate printer drum unit (DR-441CL) combines all four imaging drums and is rated to last up to 50,000 pages (when three-page print jobs are the norm).
