What’s the difference between the Canon PIXMA G3625 MegaTank printer and the PIXMA G3620? Not a lot as it happens. The PIXMA G3625 is simply a special extra bottle value bundle of the Canon PIXMA G3620 printer that includes two bonus GI61BK black ink bottles. According to Canon, that means that right out of the box you get enough black ink to print up to 18,000 pages (or 22,800 pages if you print in Economy Mode), along with enough colour ink for up to 7,700 pages.

The G3620 printer gives you multifunction capabilities at a budget-friendly price — you can print, scan, and copy, but not fax. This printer uses Canon GI61 inks that produce sharp-looking documents and detailed photos. While there is as yet a lack of compatible GI61 ink refills on the market, genuine Canon GI61 black and colour ink bottle refills are relatively inexpensive with high page yields. And all but the most demanding users won’t have to refill often, particularly with the extra bottles of ink included in this bundle.

Print speed, however, is nothing to gloat about. Canon estimates 9 images per minute (ipm) for black and white and 5 images per minute for colour, while a 6×4″ print will take 45 seconds. But for all that, the G3620 does deliver high-quality prints and has impressively low running costs. Add in the extra value you get from this bundle, and if you rarely need to scan or copy multipage documents then this may be just the printer you’re looking for.

Typically deliveries to major New Zealand towns and cities take 1 to 2 days, while it may take a day or two longer for rural areas. Delivery of oversized printers that are too heavy for normal courier delivery is done by Mainfreight and may take a little longer on occasions. You’ll be notified when your order has been dispatched and provided with a tracking number so you can monitor the progress of your order.
