For a modest price, you get a lot of printer with the Canon PIXMA TR7060a.

Intended for light home office use, this inkjet printer prints at up to 13 images per minute (mono) and 6.8 ipm (colour), and can also copy and scan. It supports automatic double-sided printing and, for faster and easier copying and scanning, it comes with a 35-page automatic document feeder (ADF).

Owners frequently praise the printer for its value and versatility, and report that the printing quality is excellent when producing text or colour documents (and even photographs). What’s more it handles a wide range of media, including photo paper, magnetic paper, and iron-on transfer sheets, and it supports borderless printing (although not on all media).

Setup is easy via the Canon PRINT app or PIXMA Cloud Link. With support for Apple AirPrint and Mopria, you can also print wirelessly directly from mobile devices.

This printer shares a lot of the same features and limitations as the next step up in the PIXMA line-up (the TR7660A). On both printers, the rear and front paper trays are limited to 100 pages each. While that should be sufficient for home and small office environments, unlike this printer the TR7660A also includes the ability to send and receive faxes, has slightly faster print speeds and supports both RF and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.

Where the TR7660a uses five ink cartridges (with two kinds of black), the TR7060a keeps it simple, requiring just two: PG660 Black, and CL661 Colour. Both are available in standard and high-yield XL capacities, and are estimated to print up to 180 pages per standard cartridge (black and colour). Buy the XL cartridges and you’ll get up to 300 pages from the colour and up to 400 pages from the black.

Sure, ink cost per page is on the high side (but less if you use the XL cartridges, and even less if you opt for compatibles). And, yes, the print speed is on the slow side. But if you are a home office user who only prints 100-300 pages per month, the TR7060a may be all the printer you need.
