Product Details: You might be wondering why the Colour LaserJet Pro 4301dw is so much cheaper than the 4301fdw. The obvious clue is the missing ‘f’ in the name — this printer doesn’t handle faxes, making it a 3-in-1 and not a 4-in-1. But that doesn’t fully explain the price difference. While the two printers look alike and are similarly featured in all other respects, the 4301dw does not allow for automatic double-sided scanning and copying.
If you can live with those limitations, this otherwise very capable printer is something of a bargain. You get automatic double-sided printing and a 50-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF). Print and copy speeds are up to 33 A4 pages a minute, and the first page can be printed in under 10 seconds. The recommended print volume is 750-4,000 pages a month (with a maximum duty cycle of 50,000 pages), making the HP Colour LaserJet Pro 4301dw a good option for workgroups of up to 10 people in small businesses and home offices.
You can connect to this printer via USB, Ethernet, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth LE, or WiFi Direct. For stand-alone use, there’s a bright 10.9cm colour LED display, while mobile users can connect via Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Services or HP’s own ePrint app.
The printer uses regular-yield HP 210A or high-yield HP 210X toner cartridges, with yields of up to 7,500 pages (black and white) and 5,500 pages (colour).
The 250-sheet paper tray can handle a variety of paper sizes, while a 50-sheet multipurpose tray allows printing on different media types and sizes such as envelopes and labels. Paper capacity can be increased to 850 sheets with the addition of an optional second input tray.
Security features include pre-configured security settings and the option to authenticate print jobs with a PIN/pull option. It also supports HP Wolf Pro Security, which provides additional layers of security and helps simplify compliance with enterprise policies.
Overall, the HP Colour LaserJet Pro 4301dw is a solid choice for small businesses and home offices that need high-quality colour printing at an affordable price. With its fast print speeds, sharp text and graphics, and convenient wireless connectivity, this printer is a reliable option for those looking to upgrade their printer. While it may not have all the features of its more expensive counterpart, the 4301fdw, the Colour LaserJet Pro 4301dw still offers impressive performance and value for money. If you don’t need a fax and can overlook the lack of automatic double-sided scanning and copying, this printer is worth considering.
