Product Details:
If you want a low-maintenance printer that will keep printing without fuss, from one year to the next, you should be looking seriously at Kyocera’s EOCSYS range. And if you are after an affordable mono printer, then take a closer look at the Kyocera ECOSYS P2235dn.
This robust and compact printer is built to last, with long-lasting components that make for a low total cost of ownership. Technically speaking, this is an LED printer, not a laser printer, but the two technologies are similar and, for the sake of simplicity, Kyocera calls it an LED laser printer. The differences aren’t worth dwelling on, but an LED printer is cheaper to manufacture than a laser printer, and you are the beneficiary. With a recommended monthly print volume of 1,500-2,500 pages, it’s a good choice for busy offices needing a reliable and efficient printer.
The P2235dn prints up to 35 A4 pages per minute, and automatic double-sided (duplex) printing will appeal to businesses looking to reduce unnecessary paper waste. Prints are high quality, so long as you are not printing photos, with resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi. The standard paper capacity of 350 sheets should be adequate for most offices but can be expanded to 850 sheets with the addition of two optional 250-sheet paper feeders (PF-1100).
Connectivity is exclusively via USB or Ethernet, although the printer includes a USB Host Port for direct printing from a flash drive. (For built-in wireless, you want the Kyocera P2235dw which matches this printer for features — contact us, if interested, as it is only available on special order.) If your network includes a wireless access point, smartphones and tablets can print using the Apple AirPrint, Mopria and Kyocera mobile print apps.
When you need more toner, the P2235dn fills up on Kyocera TK-1154 (which has a yield of up to 3,000 pages). For an even lower cost per page, third-party compatible toner is also available. The toner cartridge and printer imaging drum are not integrated, which is good news when you want to keep expenses in check. Of course, you will eventually need to replace the drum (DK-1150) and your printer will tell you when. More good news: the printer drum will last for about 100,000 pages (that’s for over three years if you keep to the recommended monthly print volume).
