Right — you’ve decided you need a mono A4 laser printer, pure and simple. You don’t need it to scan, copy or fax, you’re happy with black and white prints, and you don’t need to print A3. You’re not fussed about what it looks like. You want it to just get on with its job. If that sounds like you, then the OKI B412dn could be just what you are looking for. With a recommended monthly print volume of 250-3,000 pages, this printer is a good fit for individuals and workgroups of up to five people in busy offices. Granted, it’s an LED printer and not a laser printer but unless you’re looking under the hood you won’t see much difference. Not in appearance, and not in your printed documents.

Sure, it’s not a looker — it’s a beige boxy printer, plain and simple, but it’s compact and takes up minimal space. Print speed is impressive at up to 33 A4 pages per minute (ppm) with a five-second time to first print. The standard paper tray will take 250 80gsm sheets, and there’s also a 100-sheet multipurpose tray, but if that’s not enough you can add a second 530-sheet paper tray (OKI 44575714). Connectivity is via USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi (if you also purchase the optional OKI 45830202 Wireless Network Card).

When it comes to replacing the toner, you can get the standard capacity OKI 45807103 (which will print up to 3,000 pages), or high capacity OKI 45807107 (for up to 7,000 pages). If you choose the high-capacity toner or third-party compatible toner, you can reduce your running costs. The printer drum is separate, so you are not paying extra for an integrated unit every time your toner runs out. And the good news is that the printer drum has a respectable estimated life (of up to 25,000 pages).

Delivery of oversized printers that are too heavy for normal courier delivery is done by Mainfreight and may take a little longer on occasions.
